Eyelash Extensions: Review
Okay...so. As of late, I feel like it would be an understatement to claim that eyelash extensions has become a bit of a craze! The idea of being able to wake up feeling ready to walk out the door did admittingly intrigue me.
The Process
Overall, it was a very relaxing experience. I only had a half set so the process for me took just over an hour. If you chose to have a full set (where they place an extension on every one of your natural lashes) then you should bare in mind its going to take around a couple hours! The process consists of you lying on a bed with your eyes shut. It is painless, however, your lash technician will place some pads under your eyes on top of your lower lashes so they don't get stuck to your extensions. This at first can feel rather strange but doesn't take long to get used to! You may feel a slight tugging at times if an extension isn't placed in the right place and your technician needs to fix it. (the photo above is taken straight after when I got home)
Do they really ruin your natural lashes?
This was the biggest concern I had for when I decided to take the plunge and get extensions seeing as how important my natural lashes were to me. So let me just straight off the bat say NO. As long as you take care of your extensions then no damage will occur!! It may appear that they are pulling your lashes off, however, your extensions will fall out naturally with your natural lash cycle but that is completely normal!! However, the biggest con of these extensions were that as they were not applied properly, one extension would be stuck to a few of my natural lashes so for me personally, I lost a lot of lashes. (This however wont be a problem if you find someone who has a lot of experience).
Before and After

About a month in.. as you can see my lashes look very sparse |
This is what the extensions look like when they fall out, if you look closely you can see my natural lash stuck on with it!
Are they worth it?
Even after all the damage it brought to my lashes, I do think they were worth it, especially if you are someone who doesn't wear a lot of makeup and may not want to spend a lot of time on your makeup. However, when I was looking up reviews, no one seemed to mention this: if you're into heavy makeup then I recommend you go for a full set as the half set is a lot more natural and is hard to build up any intensity without false lashes. You will also need to possibly switch up your skincare and makeup, you are not allowed to use any oil based products as it will break down the glue so you can weigh up if you can be bothered with that lol.
- I purchased and have been using a lash serum for the past month to try and improve my lashes so if any of you want me to do a review on it I would be more than happy :)
Feel free to comment or message me if you have any questions I haven't answered in this very long blog post (sorry!)
