Eyelash Extensions: Review

Eyelash Extensions: Review

Okay...so. As of late, I feel like it would be an understatement to claim that eyelash extensions has become a bit of a craze! The idea of being able to wake up feeling ready to walk out the door did admittingly intrigue me.

The Process

Overall, it was a very relaxing experience. I only had a half set so the process for me took just over an hour. If you chose to have a full set (where they place an extension on every one of your natural lashes) then you should bare in mind its going to take around a couple hours!
The process consists of you lying on a bed with your eyes shut. It is painless, however, your lash technician will place some pads under your eyes on top of your lower lashes so they don't get stuck to your extensions. This at first can feel rather strange but doesn't take long to get used to! You may feel a slight tugging at times if an extension isn't placed in the right place and your technician needs to fix it. (the photo above is taken straight after when I got home)

Do they really ruin your natural lashes?

This was the biggest concern I had for when I decided to take the plunge and get extensions seeing as how important my natural lashes were to me. So let me just straight off the bat say NO. As long as you take care of your extensions then no damage will occur!! It may appear that they are pulling your lashes off, however, your extensions will fall out naturally with your natural lash cycle but that is completely normal!! However, the biggest con of these extensions were that as they were not applied properly, one extension would be stuck to a few of my natural lashes so for me personally, I lost a lot of lashes. (This however wont be a problem if you find someone who has a lot of experience).

Before and After

Before

After

About a month in.. as you can see my lashes look very sparse

This is what the extensions look like when they fall out, if you look closely you can see my natural lash stuck on with it!

Are they worth it?

Even after all the damage it brought to my lashes, I do think they were worth it, especially if you are someone who doesn't wear a lot of makeup and may not want to spend a lot of time on your makeup. However, when I was looking up reviews, no one seemed to mention this: if you're into heavy makeup then I recommend you go for a full set as the half set is a lot more natural and is hard to build up any intensity without false lashes. You will also need to possibly switch up your skincare and makeup, you are not allowed to use any oil based products as it will break down the glue so you can weigh up if you can be bothered with that lol.

- I purchased and have been using a lash serum for the past month to try and improve my lashes so if any of you want me to do a review on it I would be more than happy :)
Feel free to comment or message me if you have any questions I haven't answered in this very long blog post (sorry!)

Bootea Tea Tox Review

With all the big hoo-hah with skinny, toned and 'bikini ready' bodies lately, it is understandable people are finding new ways to try and loose weight. One of those ways I personally found was Bootea.
For those of you who don't know or haven't heard of Bootea, it is a 'tea tox' that you can drink for either 14 days or 28 days. You drink the morning tea evey morning and the nighttime tea every other night (it is a laxative tea so you wont want to be taking them any more frequently than that!). Oh and if tea isn't your thing, you can get Bootea in a milkshake form.

Now I like to consider myself an optimist (or maybe just gullible) when I bought this 14 day tea tox from my local Holland and Barrett for £25. (it works out to be £5 cheaper on the official Bootea website).

Bootea website: http://www.bootea.com/
Holland and Barrett website: http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/bootea-teatox-60035242

Now let me start off by saying, only get this tea if you are fully commiting to a new you because to get maximum effect, you are recommended to exercise and eat healthy along with the tea tox, baring in mind, if you aren't the best with diet plans, the site provides one for you!

So I went along with this tea tox for around about 5-6 until I had to stop myself from carrying on. Now, boys if youre reading this im sorry I cant do a comparison for you but girls... imagine your worst period pain and times it by 10. I felt that daily! I was waking up numerous times in the middle of the night, when I even had dreams I had the pains in the dream! Note- even a couple days after stopping the drinking of the tea, the pains continued. I strongly advise you not to take this tea at a time close to if you have a holiday to go on, or a festival or anything like that to go to clearly due to the laxative effects. You wont have time to actually enjoy what you're doing!
I did some research and asked around and apparently the pains have been a problem for many people. This one girl I heard about went to the doctors due to the pain and they told her to stop taking the tea immediately- which is was is advised anyway.

Now regarding fat/weight loss I didn't really notice a huge difference in fat, I took progress pictures and there was no real difference at all when looking back on them. Concerning weight.. there wasn't a difference at all. I can't say I wasn't surprised but I didn't really care, I just wanted the pain to stop!

Final verdict on this tea is that, if you were to take it, do it in proportion, use a morning and night times worth, leave it a couple days then repeat the cycle. If you were on the fence, then I really would recommend this tea. Looks like good ol exercise and eating healthy is back on the table then ey?

No7 Stay Perfect Liquid Eye Liner

So it was about a week ago I purchased the No7 Stay Perfect Liquid Eye Liner from boots for £7.50 (750 points) and I have been using it every day since.

I purchased the black one, there are sooo many different bright colours that I would like to buy but being the me I am I play it safe and buy the black. You can see the different colours here. The overall look of the product and packaging is sleek and appealing.

The felt tip is very thin at the top and you can get EXTREMELY precise line as the pictures below show. If you draw the line by the side of the felt tip then you achieve a thicker line. If you draw the line by the tip then you achieve a thin line (obviously).

The length of time this product stays on is amazing, every other eyeliner I have bought would make a black arch on my brow bone and would turn grey and wear off by the end of the day. This eyeliner stays on and keeps the matt black look all day long.
I just simply create a small winged effect to make my eyes seem bigger and more away and this eyeliner definitely helps with the inside corners and sharp wing.

Overall you guys should definitely buy this eyeliner if you like the precise winged look.

Revlon 3D Volume Mascara

So I was in Boots about a week ago and I saw this Revlon mascara while browsing. You can buy this in boots for £10.99 (1099 points). At first I thought it was a bit pricey at first glance but I thought I would give it a try. According to boots this mascara is supposed to give you glamorous, big volume lashes from every angle. 'Lashes look 100% more magnified, multiplied and amplified.'

There is a rounded part at the end of the brush to get into the corners and so every lash can be covered.

One coat of the mascara gives a natural look and makes your lashes look long. Two coats and more make your lashes more dramatic and give off a full look.

I generally really like this mascara. I have straight eyelashes so finding a good, cheap mascara is really important for me and I haven't actually found an amazing mascara until I bought this one. It makes my eyelashes curved and they make my eyes stand out so much more than other mascaras I have used. All of the bristles on the brush are really spaced out so they don't coat your eyelashes on thick and so it is easy to avoid the 'spider leg' look.
Overall this is an amazing mascara and I definitely recommend you invest and purchase this mascara!

Botanics All Bright Cleansing Toner

I've never actually bought a toner so I was really eager to try this toner out and see what 'wonders' it did to my skin. First off I'll talk about the packaging. It is a opaque, tall bottle. I really like the theme colours and simple layout which is a different to the usual sheer bottle.

Scent-wise, it smells like a floral paradise, it's sweet and not too over powering.

This toner is supposed to brighten up your skin but for the couple weeks I have been using it I haven't really seen a difference. It says to apply the toner to your face after cleansing and before moisturising. While using it I have noticed it is very good at taking excess makeup off of your face, it has cleared some imperfections and it also doesn't dry up your face which is important to me as my face is normally dry.

If you want a toner that makes you feel refreshed and takes off the rest of your makeup that doesn't dry out your face then this is the toner for you! In boots this toner is £3.99 but it is on sale and is now £2.49 (249 points)

movie night!!

As many people know I am addicted to curling up on the sofa with my duvet and watching movies. It has some how gotten its way into my daily routine. Nothing is better than having the fire lit at an orange glow and a cup of tea in my hand while watching a good rom-com or comedy.
Some comedy/ rom-coms to consider watching:

1.) How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days
                 2.) 27 Dresses
                 3.)The Proposal
                 4.) 50 First Dates
                 5.) Sex And The City
                 6.) Bringing Down The House
                 7.) 40 Days and 40 Nights
                 8.) The Ugly Truth
                 9.) Norbit
                10.) Valentine's Day
                11.) The Holiday
13.) She's Out Of My League
                14.) Fool's Gold
                15.) Easy A
                16.) Date Night
                17.) Grown Ups
                18.) The Other Guys
                19.) Dinner for Schmucks
                20.) Just Go with It

I recommend watching all these movies, they are guaranteed to make you snicker. I have watched all these movies at least 3 times and they never get old. When you click on the name of the movie it will take you to a description on the movie! Enjoy!
